This has resulted in A O becoming the leading New Zealand auction house for the sale of large and diverse private and corporate collections. A O was favoured to offer 60 works from the estate of New Zealand's most well known mid century photographer. This superb holding of 50 major works by many of our leading artists was one of the most well attended art auctions ever held at A O. A O was honoured to offer this world class collection which resulted in fierce competition between New Zealand institutions, private collectors and international bidders. A O produced a well received catalogue to celebrate the sale of one of the greatest collections of rare 20 th century design ever offered in New Zealand.

He is a collector of contemporary New Zealand and Australian art with a specific interest in new media work. Leigh's role involves management of art clients and systems and assisting in the preparation of catalogues and the istration of documentation.
Formerly an owner of Plumbly's Auction House in Dunedin, Pam has relocated to Auckland and has held eight successful rare book auctions at A O. This is where collectors will find interesting works on paper by major artists, emerging artists and rarities. In the last five years A O has offered more than ten private collections, from major single vendor collections assembled over long periods such as the David and Angela Wright Collection offered in 2011 to themed buying groups and collectives such as the ART TEXT, A O offers a comprehensive auction service which includes collection valuation, catalogue preparation and global marketing. A O's Object catalogues are crafted to present interesting connections between generations of practitioners and styles. In the last two years A O's Asian Art catalogues have become amongst the most popular on the calendar attracting strong local and burgeoning international interest.
In November A O staged the most successful rare book auction of the last three decades in offering the legendary private library of lifelong collector A. Pam Plumbly has been offering detailed book catalogues for over twenty five years and is an assiduous researcher ensuring high quality and comprehensive catralogues. A O specializes in offering entire collections and in recent years has offered a number of superb toy collections
The top sale of the night went to Colin McCahon's 1969 masterpiece The Canoe Tainui at , the highest price achieved for an artwork at auction in this country. Also finding strong bidding was a good selection of modern design furniture and Len Castle ceramics. ART OBJECT’s first major art sale of 2016 realised worth of sales under the hammer.
Total sales on the night were and the top selling lot went to Brent Wong’s 1971 masterpiece, Capitulation which set a new record for the artist’s work at auction bringing . Proceeds from the sale will contribute towards the establishment of the Judith Te Tomairangi o Te Aroha trust’ at the Royal Society of New Zealand RSNZ , where she was one of the first historians to be elected as a fellow. On offer was a wonderful variety of items from the collection including artworks, ceramics and books. Asian Art, Modern Design, Decorative Arts of the Modern Movement, NZ Artefacts and Studio Ceramics. The four aquatints are notable for their exquisite detailing of Cook’s third voyage from an old Wellington collection.
