Connell Contractors is an award winning business with more than 35 employees working in New Zealand. We are market leaders in deep and large diameter pipelines, trenchless pipeline rehabilitation, sheetpiling, dewatering and civil structures. We own and operate a modern fleet of plant and machinery ranging from crawler cranes to 50t excavators, 10 pumps and large pipe bursting set ups. We strongly believe in a culture of teamwork and training as our staff have been one of the main reasons for our on going success over the last 30 years. 2014 NZCF Waikato Branch Construction Award Category 3 for Pressure Main 11 Christchurch.
We pride ourselves on friendly honest service and we value new and long term clients. Dave has over 30 years experience in civil contracting and project management. As Managing Director of Connell Contractors Limited, Dave is responsible for the overall implementation and management of contract works. He worked for Tasman Design and Civil for nine years as General Manager prior to moving to Connell Contractors.
He has extensive knowledge of Live Switchyard environments having spent the past ten years working in the power sector. Lester's early years were spent surveying and estimating, progressing through to general supervisory management duties, to senior management level. Since arriving in New Zealand, Lester has become a member of both the Institute of Building Officials and the Institute of Building where he was committee member for the Northern Chapter responsible for Building Technology and Practise. Wayne has 20 years experience in Civil Infrastructure works including 10 years as a qualified Drainlayer.
In addition to his role as Contractor’s Representative on most of our contracts, Wayne has worked closely with multiple stakeholders managing complex utilities relocations. What I most enjoy most about New Zealand is its greenery, lakes around the country, beaches and walking tracks in NZ. What I most enjoy about working for Connells is the feeling of being part of a team that all value and support each other. Ruari has over seven years’ experience in the civil engineering profession, including five years working at the Thames Coromandel District Council, and two and a half years working for MWH Global Consultants in Hamilton. Through working within the public and private sector in roles for Local Government, private consultancy, and contractors, Ruari has gained a good overview and knowledge of public consultation, client relations, government and industry standards, concept and detailed design, procurement, and management of delivery.
Outside of work, Ruari enjoys playing rugby, surfing, diving and playing music. New Zealand is a beautiful country with amazing scenery and clean fresh air. People here are friendly and best of all, I can get fresh produce directly from the garden such as herbs, apples, lemons, tomatoes and leafy vegetables!.
