What you should know about Dunholme Lawn Tennis Club Inc
We have 3 synthetic courts and organised play all year round, so you're not just restricted to summer months. Members were involved in interclub tournaments by the mid 1930's and particularly relished regular get togethers for dances, plays and socials at members' properties, local halls and at the clubrooms. Then in 1957 the members of the club started two years of fundraising to purchase the courts and clubhouse from Richard Pearse for a cost of about 2,500. The current clubhouse which was erected around 1963, was refurbished in 200 including the installation of a new kitchen and two bathrooms.
The deck was also rebuilt and the wire netting 'balustrading' replaced with smart clear glass panels around the viewing deck. The completion of a new walkway in 2007, allowed the services to be put underground. In 2009, our own driveway was re established at 43 Ridings Rd for the use of senior players. The club now has approximately 150 senior and intermediate players and 200 junior players and celebrated its 75th anniversary in November 2004
Games will be held at diverse venues each week within the Auckland area, generally migrant distances are not too far. You will be put in a team of usually 5 players to play games against other Tennis Auckland clubs.
Games for novice grades are first to 6 and games in begin grades are to 9 tie fracture at 8 8. If you are new to inter club you will generally be entered into a beginners grade team. Games will be held at diverse venues each week within the Auckland area, generally traveling distances are not too far. You will be allocated a team coaching time during the week for which an surplus charge is paid directly to the coach. If you're looking for a family orientated club with a vast social atmosphere, we are your beginning choice. Date of beginning Day . As a BEGINNER player I can play tick as many boxes as plausible Saturday 8 30am inwards this is in case we do not have an good beginners team.
Normally, each week four members of the team play which will consist of one doubles game and one singles games. Extra team coaching occurs an extra charge and is paid directly to the coach. Goff Beech, Denis Bolotovski and their assistant coaches are all coaches and NZPTCA or equivalent qualified. It is also highly recommended that your team gets a team coaching session once a week Mon Thu behind school.
