What you should know about Kennedy Point Vineyard
The wine produced on this property reflects the essence of the land, and supports our belief that great wine is grown in the vineyard. Organic viticulture aims to sustain and enhance the fertility and life supporting ability of the soil by not using chemical fertilizers and sprays. The health of the land for the long range production of quality wine and olive oil is the goal of our organic process. New Zealand has always been a bit of a melting pot when it comes to diversity.
While we are probably more famous for our Bordeaux blends, KP is a stellar example of the Waiheke Blend. First dreamed into reality 20 years ago by an American couple from Hawaii, KP was quickly joined by a backpacking German girl who literally had her baby son rear slung during that first harvest. Heike has gone on to be the driving force behind the care we have for our vineyard growing healthy plants from healthy land. Those first owners have passed the dream on to Elizabeth, born in China, raised her family in New Zealand, and now proud and passionate owner of KP. Accommodation bookings can be rescheduled subject to availability and are 100 refundable if cancelled 30 days prior to the booking.
