Netball New Zealand, Netball’s national sporting organisation, has the responsibility for leading the development of the sport throughout New Zealand. Based at NNZ’s Parnell Head Office, this is a very important role and sits on the Senior Management Team. That's why Netballers nationwide know that we're standing right behind them from the many New World stores that support their local community Netball teams through to our national sponsorship of Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns. ANZ is proud to be supporting Netball across the country, the sport with the highest level of female participation in New Zealand, from junior to the elite level.
Through continued commitment to the advancement of Netball, from grassroots participation to elite performance, our involvement demonstrates ANZ s strategy of helping all New Zealanders to achieve. Netball New Zealand, Netball's national sporting organisation, has the responsibility for leading the development of the sport throughout New Zealand. Through its role of developing and managing national programmes for participation, coaches, umpires and officials, Netball New Zealand aims for Netball to continue to be the sport of first choice for New Zealanders. Bev is well known in Netball circles, managing the NZU21 and Young Internationals teams, the highlight winning the World Youth Cup in Fiji in 1992.
Debbie’s involvement in Netball spans more than 30 years, where she has served as everything from president, chairperson, secretary and treasurer to player, coach, manager and selector at Club, Centre and regional level even a stint managing the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel team in 2008. Debbie was integral to managing the transition from Netball Southland to Netball South, and in 2012, she won the New World National Netball Volunteer Award for istrator of the Year and received a Services to Sport recognition at the ILT Southland Sports Awards. Elected to the NNZ Board in 2009, Shirley is currently a Director of Synchronised Swimming NZ Inc and was the chairperson of the Trans Tasman Netball Limited Board. Shirley has also been a Director and Chair of both the Auckland Diamonds and the Mystics Franchises.
Jill is a financial management consultant and aspiring professional director with extensive commercial and governance experience. Jill has a passion for Netball with an involvement spanning many years encompassing playing, umpiring, coaching and istration as well as serving as a Director for the Capital Shakers franchise 2001 to 2003. She has been a team official for National teams and has coached at all levels of her chosen sports and been a National Selector. Allison joined the NNZ Board in 2014 and is an experienced lawyer who comes to the role with broad commercial skills and a passion for Netball.
She chaired the Auckland Netball Board from , was a previous director of Queen City Netball Ltd for four yearsand was in the project team for the development of the NZ franchises for the ANZ Championship. Allison was also a team member for the set up of Greater Auckland Netball Ltd Northern Mystics Netball franchise . Allison has been involved in a number of sports law matters and her legal experience includes acting for and advising clients in respect of a wide range of issues and disputes, including contract, negligence, media law defamation, insurance, intellectual property, construction, shareholder disputes, sports, Fair Trading Act and Commerce Act issues, public law and regulatory matters. Development both on and off court for her charges are key goals for the coach of the Beko Netball League’s newest team. We have only had seven trainings together and it was a tough pre season, she said.
