What you should know about OsteOasis Osteopathic Clinic

Clinic in Auckland

Specialist Osteopaths for Pregnant Women, Newborns and Children Located in Mt Eden. Osteopathy first sparked my interest following the birth of my eldest child 20 years ago. My daughter and I both benefited greatly from having osteopathic treatment, seeing huge improvements in our health and well being. Since graduating, the majority of my professional training has focused on obstetrics and pediatrics, as well as both cranial and biodynamic cranial osteopathy. I’ve also been involved with the organisation of many osteopathic courses covering musculo skeletal and visceral osteopathy.
I have a special interest in helping ease the transition of becoming a new family by helping to allow the mother’s body to best adapt to pregnancy, birth and after, and helping the new little people adapt physically to life outside the womb. I love that the profession is inherently focused on finding the health of each person we see by finding and treating the root cause of the person’s symptoms while respecting each person’s individuality and humanity. I finished my clinical studies in 2012 and regularly spend time in a specialty clinic in Palmerston North furthering my knowledge in to gentle and effective examination, diagnosis and treatment of babies, pre and post natal women, children, as well as the rest of the community. Our approach is to look at each person as an individual, listening carefully throughout the case history, and taking into consideration lifestyle factors such as posture and work habits that often have a significant impact. By looking at the contributing factors, we tailor make the treatment and rehabilitation programme for each individual to ensure the most appropriate programme meaning a fast and effective recovery. We don’t want you to have to come for treatment week in and week out, instead we work together to get results. This means our primary mode of treatment involves the application of manual techniques aimed at stretching, mobilising, and balancing.
As well as the treatment received, we always offer expert advice on lifestyle alterations such as exercise and posture alteration. They include a belief that the body has an inherent ability to heal and regulate itself, and it is the disruption of these mechanisms that causes disease and dysfunction. Specialist Osteopaths for Pregnant Women, Newborns and Children Located in Mt Eden. Founded by Rebecca McKay Watts, OsteOasis offers exceptional care to each and every client.
Our Mt Eden clinic is located within Mother Well natural health clinic, which means we have a strong health network to add extra support if needed to our clients. We always strive to look for the root cause of a problem, and not merely treat the symptoms. Specialist Osteopaths for Pregnant Women, Newborns and Children Located in Mt Eden. I believe that osteopaths are in a unique position in rehabilitation and healthcare by being able to spend more time with our clients, really listen to what they are saying, and look at the body as a whole, and not reduce the presenting complaint to the site of pain

Our personalised focus and individualised, holistic assessment and treatment results in faster, longer lasting results and the re establishment of optimal health and wellbeing. Because of our indiviualised and case specific care we can help with a wide range of problems, from musculoskeletal injury to headaches, digestive and gynaecological issues as well as supporting during pregnancy and common childhood complaints. We also see a wide age range, from newborns to 80 or even 90 year olds and we are able to tailor our treatment. There are many causes of back and neck pain, most often its cause lies within the spine and the structures that support it. Back pain can also be referred from one of the organ systems of the body, for example the kidneys, gastro intestinal tract or the respiratory tract. Osteopaths are well trained and well placed to assess musculo skeletal pain, and no referral from your doctor is necessary prior to consulting with an osteopath. Sometimes injuries are self limiting and will recover with rest and good management. However good management, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment will mean a faster, better outcome. Here at OsteOasis we want you getting back to doing what you love, and so our tailor made, individualised treatment plans are aimed to get you back to full health in the shortest amount of time possible. Massage can also be a great way to stop the tension from building up to create problems. Headaches and migraines are commonly occurring, annoying, and constant pains and can have a huge impact on your life. If you or a family member are plagued by headaches, see if we can help you today. Osteopathy is a great way to take some me’ time, and make sure that your body is in good alignment and health. As with most things in life, the sooner that appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation can start, the faster and better recovery will be. The benefit of Osteopathy during rehabilitation lies in its holistic approach and the whole body focus that osteopaths have. After recovery and rehabilitation the body as a whole should be functioning better, thus decreasing the risks of future injury and keeping athletes in top form
