Our Physiotherapists are involved in many different industries and settings locally, nationally even internationally delivering health promotion, injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. We will assess an individual or group of people, assessing their potential for movement and function, and then together with the patient s, whanau family and caregivers establish treatment goals designed to restore or develop that potential, and then maintain it. The physiotherapy process involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, treatment or rehabilitation.
Physiotherapists expertly incorporate a wide range of strategies to assist people’s needs including in various education strategies, massage, manipulation, mobilisation, exercise therapy, rehabilitation, and acupuncture, breathing retraining, postural correction, orthoses and braces, taping strapping, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, strength balance training and many more. Education and individualisation of treatment plans strategies are cornerstones of physiotherapy. Physiotherapy treatment is aimed at reducing pain improving movement strengthening muscle power improving function assisting with independence. Our Physiotherapists can assist with advice, treatment, rehabilitation exercise programmes.
Falls are the leading cause of hospitalisation, and one of the top three leading causes of death by injury, in New Zealand. Occupational Health Physiotherapy is about advising and working with employers and employees on matters, which are likely to affect their health through poor posture, repetitive tasks or strain injuries. Our physiotherapists work with employees employers aiming to prevent discomfort, pain or injury DPI by implementing good workplace strategies. Katie’s special areas of interest are Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Adolescent Physiotherapy.
Michael has a keen interest in Sports Rugby, Rowing, Ten Pin bowling, American Football, Squash, Ice Hockey and Basketball and has gained professional experience having been a Physiotherapist with Niue 7’s, Auckland University Rugby Club, Samoa Netball. His special interests within physiotherapy include biomechanical analysis, preventative rehabilitation and sports strength and conditioning. Simon graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Health Science and has gained work experience in the public sector at Tauranga Hospital. Sharon has gained extensive professional experience through her work as Physiotherapist with Tall Ferns, Emerging Tall Ferns and Tall Blacks, BBNZ Youth Development Teams, NPC Netball Auckland Waitakere, North , FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Samoa Women’s Rugby Manusina, Manusina 7s, Auckland Women’s 7s Rugby.
Our staff have been physiotherapists at Olympic Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cups, IRB World 7 s Series World Cups, Basketball World Championships, Swimming World Championships, Netball World Cups, World Netball Teams, America’s Cups, FIFA U17 World Cup along with countless national and local sporting events and competitions. We also utilise our extensive network of sports doctors, specialists and other appropriate health professionals where required. Spinal neck and back Pain is the most common musculoskeletal affliction in Western Society. Ema has extensive professional experience having been a Physiotherapist with NZ Basketball Age Group teams, Auckland Women’s NPC rugby team, Manukau Rovers Rugby Club, Junior Tall Ferns, and assisting with Manu Samoa Rugby.
Physio Rehab Group has contracts with some of the largest elderly care facilities in the country and can provide a range of services to these populations groups. Ari Carroll Ariane is the clinical lead for our Elderly Care service, she is based at manages our Bairds Road Clinic.
