Back in 199 we came across a little kiosk in St Johns that was screaming out for change, I negotiated to buy the business and an evolution started. Coffee2go became our mainstay while many others concentrated on the dine in caf market. We quickly became entrenched in peoples daily habits and were first to market in this neck of the woods delivering the way we did. We’ve grown a little over the years dipping our feet into several other locations but have decided to focus on our two locations. Roasting locally is important to connecting with our local market, we’ve been around since 1998 first Roasting then establishing our first retail store.
Where possible we also produce as many products from our commercial kitchen. Giving back to the Community that supports us is a passion that we’ve had from the outset, many local schools and non profit groups are assisted with items that are auctioned off. first NZ HERALD article second NZ HERALD article and lastly another Cigana first bringing the App to our shores NZ HERALD article
2015 rolled around and the opportunity came up to purchase this business, their. 15 years ago we introduced a prepaid Coffee card, this at the time was only old by the Telco’s. Behind 15 years in the industry it was time to put some fire lower our brand.
We beginning engaged a design company to create branding for our online presence as well the retail channels we’re expanding on. Cigana Espresso was founded in 199 as a small scale roaster, retailer supplier of wholesale Coffee. The environment is rapidly changing in retail and Pop up flowers was established to shift with the temporary market, first mover advantage was crucial in the bay to make the model work and one would think the competition will attempt to change in the close future. After 15 years in the industry it was time to put some fire below our brand. No certainly not while I’m owning the brand however it’s only limited to where you want to position your brand.
2015 rolled around and the opportunity came up to buy this business, their. In 2005 I opened my second ca in Glen Ines and at the time I was first to market offering an espresso prohibit in the area. To date their attempts have failed and the appropriate folk of the Eastern Bays are enjoying fresh flowers direct from the markets at prices that would make competition blush. 15 years ago today a dream was started, for months I would conclude my job at Saints in St helpers, swinging into Sun hill garden center stopping at the past Cheese Shoppe.
Behind 15 years in business we would be denying reality that it’s a competitive market out there and we needed to change up our offering to face today market. Cigana espresso started out as a insignificant concept, firstly from my house using a scanty contractors to get our product to market, followed by seven more cafes over the years, 5 of this company owned and two were partnerships. Peter was huge to labor with and get our site up with all our requirements meet. Karma Cola again this was founded by some rad guys who were behind another major juice company they sold.
